Access Log Manager
What's the goal of the Access Log Manager? What type of information will it give you?
An access log is a complete list of all the files that were accessed by the guests of a particular Internet site. Any file which was requested for some reason shall be listed, so if you have one webpage with 3 embedded pics, one video and one embedded text file, for example, the access log will contain a total of six entries - one for any of the 6 files which were accessed when the site visitor opened the webpage. A log typically contains the file name and path, the date, in addition to the visitor’s Operating System, web browser and IP address. In some cases you may also find the referrer Internet sites that sent the visitors to your site. The information an access log file includes is in human-readable plain text format. It can also be processed by special software on a desktop machine and used to prepare reports on the overall performance of a site, in addition to the web statistics your server may have produced.
Access Log Manager in Web Hosting
Our custom-built Hepsia Control Panel features a section focused on various logs and the access logs are one of them. As soon as you sign in to your web hosting account and visit this section, you will find a list of all the domains and subdomains that you have. All it takes to permit the generation of access logs is to click on a button which will be available next to each and every domain/subdomain. When the option is enabled, you will see a download link as well as the file size so far, so you will be able to save the file to your PC and look at it or process it with some program. Enabling or disabling the logs takes effect instantaneously, so if you don't need one, you'll be able to stop it with a click from the same exact section of the CP. You shall still be able to access the already created content by simply clicking the Download link.
