Dot NAME Domains

Started in 2001, the .NAME universal domain name extension is the sole TLD meant for personal sites only. These domains can include personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other designations people are known by. At the beginning, just third-level registrations were possible, so if you planned to reserve john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already grabbed 3rd-level domains remained running.

You will have the chance to update the WHOIS contact details, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already purchased domain to our company if you receive its EPP transfer authorization code from the present domain registrar and we will renew it when the transfer has been finished. There are no specific prerequisites on who can acquire a .NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the goal behind its creation alive, the Registry may check who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration can be challenged.
